Earth Hour 2020: Come play ANiMOZ by candlelight with us!
Are you looking for something to do during an hour of darkness on this Saturday (28 March 2020)?
It’s Earth Hour from 830-930pm and we’ll be playing ANiMOZ!
On the official Earth Hour website, WWF-Australia say the impacts of the climate crisis have never been more present:
This summer alone: Over 12 million hectares of Australian land burnt during an extended fire season. Over 1.25 billion native animals perished in the catastrophic bushfires. Cities shrouded in toxic smoke haze. Farms and regional towns devastated by drought.
This Saturday, 28 March 2020, at 830pm, Earth Hour is encouraging everyone to switch off their lights in what is a global call for action on the climate crisis.
What does Earth Hour have to do with ANiMOZ?
As an ANiMOZ Ranger, we all have a part to play in protecting #wildANiMOZ (that’s the creatures out in the real world) and ensure that the environment is healthy enough to sustain them.
ANiMOZ is not just a game; it’s a way to engage with wildlife – through both their amazing traits, and the dangers they face.
The Rangers at WWF say this is the most important Earth Hour yet: “2020 is a pivotal year for the planet. Five vital climate events including COP26 are taking place across the globe this year with world leaders set to make decisions on environmental policy that will impact the planet for years to come.”
To mark the occasion, ANiMOZ Headquarters will be switching off all our lights, lighting some candles and playing the Official Ultimate Ranger Gameplay – and we want you to join us!
If you don’t have the Starter Pack yet, you can get it here – and there’s still time to receive it for Saturday if you order today!
The rules and an explainer video are available on the GAMEPLAY page of the HQ website (but younger Rangers might need help with the rules).
If you’re planning to join us in ANiMOZ by candlelight, comment below with how many Rangers you’ll be playing with!
And on the night tag @animozworld to share you candlelit photos with us!
Why not share this with your friends, to get more people playing on Saturday?!
